A rugged manual tester designed for the laboratory, quality control, or test facility that requires an accurate, reliable lower priced instrument.  Quick action, and high readability are among its desirable features.  Designed for testing springs, the MST may also be used for tensile and compression testing of numerous other materials or specimens.

Features: 

  • Fast Action rack and pinion drive, 3/8" travel per one revolution of the hand wheel

  • Only 10 lb actuating force required at full 500 lb capacity.  Unique clutch holds load at any point

  • Easy to read 11" dial face. Compression forces are read clockwise and tension forces are read counter-clockwise. Numerals are color coded for accurate observation.

Durable Construction:

Heavy duty cast metal housing.  Ball bearing slides. Gasketed, tough, shatter-proof plastic dial cover with chrome plated bezel.

Standard Accessories: 

12" stainless steel ruler, graduated in 1/32 of an inch and in millimeters for deflection measurement.  Dual magnifier with pointers.  Bracket for standard dial indicator.  Clevis grips for extension springs.  1/4" diameter x 14" long core rod for compression testing long, small diameter springs.  Dust cover and instruction manual.

Tension Testing:

+/- 0.4% of full scale capacity on a 500 division graduated dial.  Features Chatillon Tempruf temperature compensated springs in models up to 250 lb capacity
